SIMATS LANDSCAPE GARDEN
Location: SIMATS, Kuthambakkam, Near Sriperumbudur, Chennai | Area : 87,575 sft
The landscape is conceived as a living circuit—an abstract translation of a printed circuit board into public space. Just as electronic circuits rely on traces, nodes, and loops to transmit energy and information, this design uses pathways, social nodes, and continuous movement to generate interaction and collective experience.
Primary paths function as signal traces, guiding fluid movement across the site, while branching routes create multiple choices and loops, encouraging exploration rather than linear use. At key intersections, the geometry expands into nodes—informal social pods designed for gathering, discussion, performances, and spontaneous events. These spaces naturally support contemporary patterns of use such as group conversations, content creation, flash mobs, and social media engagement.
Stepped green terraces act as layered platforms for sitting, observing, and participating, allowing the space to be active without a fixed stage or hierarchy. The geometry is legible both at eye level and from above, making the landscape equally experiential on the ground and visually strong for aerial views and digital storytelling.
Ultimately, the project is not designed as a conventional park but as a social motherboard—where movement becomes data flow, spaces store interaction, and people themselves generate the energy that animates the landscape.
